The Role of NF-KB and Estrogen Receptor on Prostate Cancer Progression to Bone Metastasis

چکیده
Numerically, five divisions of transcription factor family have been classified. These are tagged as p65 (RelA), RelB, c-Rel, NF-κB1 and NF-κB2. In dissimilarity to the other family divisions, NF-κB1 and NF-κB2 are produced in inactive forms (p105 and p100) and are enzymatically broken down to the active forms (p50 and p52), respectively [8]. All the five divisions of this protein family tree form homoor heterodimers and have similar structural features. They have Rel homology domain (RHD). RHD is important for combination, as well as linking to associate DNA elements [9]. NF-κB sub units consist of regions for phosphorylations and other after-translational alterations. These regions are necessary for activation and signal transduction link with other signaling pathways [10]. Attachment of NF-κB dimers to IκB molecules hinder binding to DNA, and shift the balance-state localization of the complex to the cytoplasm. In spite of that, movement between cytoplasm and nucleus takes place [11].

Roles of Renin-Angiotensin System in the Regulation of Prostate Cancer Bone Metastasis: A Critical Review
Mestastatic prostate cancer cells (MPCCs) frequently metastasize to bone, which is a “favorite soil” for colonization and proliferation of MPCCs. Prostate cancer bone mestastasis is tightly associated with tumor-induced bone lesions, most commonly caused from the etiological imbalance between osteoblastic bone formation and osteoclastic bone resorption, and from the anti-tumor immune response. ...
متن کاملEfficient Synergistic Combination Effect of Endurance Exercise with Curcumin on Breast Cancer Progression Through Inflammatory Pathway Inhibition in BALB/C Mice
Introduction: TNF-α/NF-kB signaling pathway plays an important role in promoting the inflammatory process and growth of breast cancer. Accordingly, the aim of the present study was to investigate the synergistic combination effect of endurance exercise with curcumin on breast cancer progression through TNF-α/NF-kB signaling axes in female BALB/c mice with breast cancer. Methods: The design of ...
متن کاملInfluence of the Different Primary Cancers and Different Types of Bone Metastasis on the Lesion-based Artificial Neural Network Value Calculated by a Computer-aided Diagnostic System,BONENAVI, on Bone Scintigraphy Images
Objective(s): BONENAVI, a computer-aided diagnostic system, is used in bone scintigraphy. This system provides the artificial neural network (ANN) and bone scan index (BSI) values. ANN is associated with the possibility of bone metastasis, while BSI is related to the amount of bone metastasis. The degree of uptake on bone scintigraphy can be affected by the type of bone metastasis. Therefore, t...
متن کاملRelation between Estrogen and Progesterone Receptor Status with p53, Ki67 and Her-2 Markers in Patients with Breast Cancer
Background: Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women, containing approximately one third of all illnesses in women. Assessment of molecular markers is valuable in predicting the outcome of disease and decision making for optimal treatment. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between estrogen and progesterone receptors with Her-2, Ki67, P53, and clinicopathologica...
متن کاملDiagnostic uncertainty of isolated skull lesion in prostate cancer- Role of SPECT/CT
Skeletal involvement is the second most common site of metastases after lymph nodal metastases in patients with prostate cancer. The skeletal metastases from prostate cancer are osteoblastic in nature and show increased tracer avidity on the bone scan. Focal tracer avid lesion in skeleton especially in skull requires the careful examination by further investigation. The patients with skull meta...
